Independent Living Facilities
Illinois has a statewide network of Centers for Independent Living (CILs) that help people with disabilities live independently. In Whiteside County, the Northwestern Illinois Center for Independent Living in Sterling serves the Morrison area.
Older adults who need help at home may qualify for the Illinois Department on Aging's Community Care Program, which offers in-home services, adult day care and emergency home response.
Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs
The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs helps veterans, their families and survivors get the benefits they've earned. The state runs five Veterans' Homes for long-term care in Anna, Chicago, LaSalle, Manteno and Quincy.
